1992 Silver Mercedes 230CE with 230,000 kilometers and a current ITV through April 2024. Very reliable and comfy car to drive short or long distances. 1966 Mini Cooper S with original Downton Conversion.

Exported to California from new, via Downton Tuning, this LHD car was found and brought back to the UK in 2012.

The car has been subject to scrutiny and verified as a genuine matching numbers, matching body shell, Mk1 Cooper S with a Downton Conversion.  Please see report in the photos.

The mileage is just over 60,000 miles and this believed to be genuine. Mechanically recommissioned by well known mini experts, to keep on top of general maintenance.

The engine and ancillaries have correct date stamps, it is a 1330cc, rebuilt by SMMC. The carburation is via a pair of Downton modified H4’s, it has a Special Tuning Downton head stage 2 specification, fitment of a lightweight flywheel, the dynamo is fitted with the larger cast diameter ST pulley. Original engine spec available and all associated works completed with receipts.

The 333 gearbox is fitted with a close ratio ST gear set.

Suspension and running gear is in remarkable condition retaining nearly all the original factory black paint. A set of correct Blue Band displacer units are fitted, the date stamps on the units match the car. Single blues upfront, doubles at rear.

The body has all original panels, original floors, body number on front valance matches the Heritage certificate and original floor tag is present. The original red gold brocade trim is in the car, however a set of original Les Leston Microcell bucket seats are currently being used to save the wear on the original front seats. The Cooper S has all original interior fixtures – headlining, door cards, speedo etc.

The car comes with a thick history file, has been shown at numerous shows and is well known to the MCR. It has won an award for the most original unrestored Cooper S at Beaulieu. 

Today the car is often used in regularity rallys, where you may have seen it.  To sum up, this is not a show car, but a very original unrestored driving Cooper S. This beautiful, original 1953 MG TD has undergone a full body-off restoration. A classic, popular colour scheme has been chosen for it. The exterior was painted in Woodland Green, the interior is upholstered in biscuit leather. The dashboard has been upgraded with wood veneer, in which the green instruments come into their own beautifully. The MG TD has been rebuilt with a sharp eye for detail, with the revised engine and gearbox being repainted in the original red lacquer. Naturally, the soft top of the MG TD has also been completely renewed, in the same tasteful colour as the interior trim. The chrome of the car has been beautifully restored. The restoration of this car is fully documented. Of course, all photos are included with the car. The sale also includes a fully documented journal of the history and restoration, all receipts including the original bill of sale when exported to the USA in 1953. Showing just over 11,000 miles from new and the historic Spanish registration is included. €29,900
